10 UK MPs and Peers will visit Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh on 8 November as part of a visit to strengthen ties with Bangladesh and explore the relief efforts from the international community as it searches for a resolution to the issue.
A group of newly elected Members of the Tynwald will visit the UK Parliament for a 3-day Westminster familiarisation programme this week to develop working relationships with their Westminster counterparts. The programme will cover a wide variety of topics including the current political landscape in Westminster, the role of Select Committees, the daily procedure in the House of Commons and the work of the UK Public Accounts Committee.

From 2011, CPA UK's series of capacity building Westminster Workshops have explored the role of parliamentarians and parliamentary Public Accounts Committees (PACs) in financial oversight, providing practical training and knowledge to Commonwealth PACs. CPA UK will host the 2017 Westminster Workshop for Chairs and Members of Public Accounts Committees from 4 - 6 December 2017, developed and delivered in partnership with the UK Public Accounts Committee. The skills based Workshop will take place over three days, offering practical, interactive sessions to build the capacity of participating Chairs. Members and Clerks of Commonwealth Public Accounts Committees.

CPA UK will host a Legislative Drafting Seminar from 11-14 December 2017 at the Houses of Parliament in London. The aim of the seminar will be to provide parliamentarians and legislative drafters with practical advice and support in relation to the drafting and amending of modern slavery/human trafficking/forced labour legislation. Through a series of technical workshop sessions, delegates will share knowledge with one another and collaborate with experts to analyse what makes legislation effective. By the end of the seminar delegates will use this information to help facilitate well-informed policymaking and more potent legislative drafting in their jurisdictions to tackle the scourge of modern slavery/human trafficking/forced labour.
