Actions to Prevent Human Trafficking through Sport: Workshop to Build Capacity and Techniques

22 February 2022 - 24 February 2022

Venue: Virtual

CPA UK will be hosting a virtual workshop with the aim of increasing the knowledge of parliamentarians, parliamentary staff, officials, and other stakeholders' knowledge on the issues of human trafficking through sport, particularly ahead of the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

This workshop will allow for debate, discussion and collaboration. You will hear from specialists and delegates on the way in which parliamentarians can help prevent trafficking through sport and adopt new tools and techniques.

This project is being completed alongside Mission 89, a research, education and advocacy organisations that fights the exploitation of young athletes through social and economic transformation. They are one of the only NGOs in the world to specialize in the issue of trafficking in and through sport.

This workshop will run for 3 consecutive half-days on the 22, 23, 24 February 2022.

CPA UK is seeking expressions of interest from both Houses to join this workshop; it would be desirable if parliamentarians had an interest on the issues of modern slavery, human trafficking, as well as trafficking through sport or sporting events.

For more information or to express your interest in this workshop, please contact Olivia Moore at mooreo@parliament.uk.
