CPA UK will support parliamentarians in strengthening knowledge raising awareness and promoting good practice to ensure effective, forward-looking legislation and regulation, and the use of digital tools to support parliamentary work.

Your Role as Parliamentarians

As digital technologies evolve quickly, parliamentarians play an important role in understanding how these changes affect society. They need to stay informed about new tools, consider both opportunities and risks, and ensure laws protect the public while supporting innovation. Using digital tools in parliament can also improve transparency, efficiency, and public engagement.

Stakeholders, including government bodies, civil society, researchers, and technology companies, also have key responsibilities. They should provide clear information, share expertise, and promote good practice to help parliamentarians make informed decisions. Technology providers must act responsibly, protect data, and design safe, inclusive digital solutions.
