What can the UK learn from Australia's social media ban for under-16s?

CPA UK is partnering with the House of Commons Education, Children, and Young People Hub to deliver a discussion event focused on Australia’s social media ban for under-16s.
The event will hear from several stakeholders who have been closely involved in the ban’s implementation, assessing its impact, and exploring its implications for similar initiatives in the UK. Currently confirmed panellists include:
- Julie Inman-Grant, Australia eSafety Commissioner (joining virtually)
- Tony Allen, Chief Executive, Age Check Certification Scheme
- Professor Julia Davidson OBE, Director of Child Online Harms Policy Think Tank
The event is open to all UK parliamentarians, parliamentary officials, and members of staff, subject to capacity. Tea, coffee, and other refreshments will be provided. Participation is open to virtual attendees, if you notify CPA UK of your wish to join online in advance.
