CPA UK hosted a briefing on the situation in St Vincent & the Grenadines, following the eruptions of the La Soufrière Volcano in April 2021.

The British High Commissioner to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, Mr Scott Furssedonn-Wood MVO, spoke on the impact of the disaster on the islands and on neighbouring countries in the region. The briefing provided details on the UK’s emergency assistance and contributions to the humanitarian relief effort, as well as ongoing support to St Vincent & the Grenadines’ recovery.

Members who were present had the opportunity to raise any questions they had.

This was a private meeting, only open to Members of the UK Parliament. The contact person for this event was Rahel Kibru at kibrur@parliament.uk.
