A General Election will be held in the Isle of Man on Thursday 23 September. CPA UK, on behalf of CPA British Islands and Mediterranean Region (BIMR) is conducting an Election Observation Mission (EOM) to the Isle of Man General Election over the period 14 – 25 September 2021.
This is the first CPA BIMR international Election Observation Mission (EOM) to the Isle of Man and this will be the first time the Isle of Man has received an international team to observe its General Election. CPA BIMR is grateful for the opportunity to support this vital exercise in democracy in the Isle of Man.
The Isle of Man is the third Crown Dependency to welcome international observers from CPA BIMR, following the Election Observation Mission to Jersey in May 2018 and the Election Expert Mission to Guernsey in 2020. Since 2011, CPA BIMR has also conducted observation missions to the British Virgin Islands, the Turks and Caicos Islands, the Cayman Islands, Montserrat, Anguilla and the UK.
During the ongoing pandemic, safety considerations and travel restrictions have led to several election missions taking place virtually. We are closely monitoring the situation in the Isle of Man and are currently planning to conduct the mission in person.
