CPA UK hosted a delegation of MPs and Peers for a visit to the Parliament of Namibia.

The visit followed elections in both countries.

The visit engaged the delegation with newly elected parliamentarians.

The delegation met members from the National Assembly and National Council.

In collaboration with the British High Commission, CPA UK arranged meetings with civil society organisations outside the Namibian parliament.

This visit was connected with LGBT+ rights following a landmark ruling for gay rights campaigners over a year ago. In 2024 laws banning same-sex acts between men were ruled unconstitutional in Namibia. 

The delegation also looked at Namibia’s leading role in energy transition as the delegation visited the first green hydrogen production in Southern Africa.
