CPA UK Delegation Visit to Ghana

25 May 2026

Venue: Accra

A cross-party UK parliamentary delegation is at the Parliament of Ghana.

Both Ghana and the UK held elections in 2024, so this is a great opportunity for new members from both Commonwealth countries to share their experiences.

The visit has a trade scrutiny focus, and  parliamentarians are talking to local businesses and stakeholders to strengthen trade relations. It is an opportunity to discuss how the economic growth of UK-Ghana businesses can be boosted and how cost of living pressures in both countries can be addressed.

The impact of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area will be discussed in light of the Commonwealth Secretary General's commitment to strengthen Intra-African trade.

There is also an opportunity to discuss energy transition and human rights.
