The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association British Islands Mediterranean Region (CPA BIMR) in partnership with the Scottish Parliament, is inviting Members of the UK Parliament to express their interest in participating in an Election Observation Training Programme to be held at the Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh, on Sunday 22 and Monday 23 November 2026. 

The two-day programme will provide participants with an introduction to international election observation and will equip parliamentarians with the knowledge and practical skills required to participate effectively in election observation missions. The programme will include presentations, interactive workshops, case studies and scenario-based exercises covering election observation methodology, international standards and best practice. 

No previous election observation experience is required. The training is intended for Members who may wish to participate in future election observation missions. 

Members wishing to be considered are invited to submit an expression of interest to Christopher Brown (browncc@parliament.uk)  by Friday 18 September 2026.
