Published 15 July 2026

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed this week between CPA UK, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and GEDU Global Education. Signed by:

  • Minister for Indo-Pacific, Seema Malhotra MP on behalf of the FCDO
  • Rt Hon. David Mundell MP Treasurer of CPA UK
  • Dr Vishwajeet Rana CEO of GEDU Global Education

The MoU highlights the importance of UK-India relations and reflects the interest parliamentarians have in learning from one another. Collaborating with GEDU Global also emphasises the role of education in developing the New Parliamentarians Exchange.

This collaboration sat at the heart of what each of the representatives had to say ahead of signing the Memorandum of Understanding:

Today's signing is particularly timely, coming as the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement enters into force. Alongside the ambitions set out in the UK-India Vision 2035, it reflects the strength of a relationship that continues to grow in scope, ambition and importance. – Seema Malhotra MP, Minister for Indo-Pacific

The New Parliamentarians Exchange established through this MoU presents an exciting opportunity to foster connections between a new generation of UK and Indian parliamentarians. – Rt Hon. David Mundell MP

The UK-India partnership is one of the most important in our contested world. By investing in the next generation of leaders, we are helping to ensure that its best days lie ahead of us. I look forward to building that future together. - Dr Vishwajeet Rana CEO of GEDU Global Education
