BIMR Commonwealth Women Parliamentarian Mentoring Scheme

Published 25 March 2026

British Islands and Mediterranean Region Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians is launching a mentoring scheme to support the retention, advancement, and wellbeing of women parliamentarians.  The scheme will provide structured, confidential mentoring relationships offering guidance, connection, and space for professional reflection.

Whilst the scheme is open to anyone, it may be especially helpful for recently elected women parliamentarians and those seeking support at pivotal stages.

The scheme is designed to be flexible and responsive to the realities of parliamentary life.  It includes two key components:

  1. Mentor-Mentee Pairing Process – all you need to do is complete an online form and BIMR CWP Steering Committee will carefully match you.
  2. Regular Meetings – mentors and mentees will agree the frequency. BIMR CWP will provide guidance to assist you.

Expectation of commitment - one year and three mentoring calls.

We are currently recruiting mentors.
