Gender Sensitising Parliaments: A Practical Guide Seminar
14 May 2025
Venue: CPA Room, Westminster Hall
CPA UK, CPA Secretariat and BGIPU are hosting an upcoming seminar on the recently published Gender Sensitising Parliaments: A Practical Guide.
Professors Sarah Childs and Meryl Kenny (University of Edinburgh) will introduce arguments for gender-sensitising parliaments (GSP), before presenting the above guide.
More and more parliaments around the world are taking action to address the barriers to full and equal participation, and to ensure that - as institutions - they meet the needs of all the people they represent. This seminar will be of interest to both members and staff wanting to reform parliaments to be more inclusive, effective, responsive and resilient. In particular, discussions will explore the very practical steps individuals, and a parliament as a whole can undertake to address gender and diversity insensitivities, and in so doing meet international commitments.
