CPA BIMR Conference in Cardiff

CPA Senedd hosted the 3-day BIMR conference which started on Tuesday 17^th June (2025).

The conference was called Addressing the Needs of a Modern Parliament.

It included the BIMR AGM.

A core theme of the conference was diversity and inclusion. The BIMR LGBT+ network was launched during the conference and there was also a workshop on the importance of LGBT voices in parliament.

There was another workshop on how parliaments enable full and effective participation of people with disabilities.

Other topics addressed were the use of new technology and AI in parliaments, and supporting parliamentarians’ wellbeing and mental health. Members of the Welsh Youth Parliament shared their experiences with delegates.

Three delegates represented CPA UK at this year’s conference.

Parliamentarians from across the BIM Region were there. The region represents the UK, Cyprus, the Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Alderney, the Isle of Man, Jersey, Malta, Northern Ireland, Scotland, St Helena and Wales.
