A delegation of UK parliamentarians will undertake a CPA UK organised programme to the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as part of a series of a bilateral exchange programmes with the UK Parliament. The visit will involve a series of meetings with the parliamentary leadership in Abuja, as well key committees in the Senate and the House of Representatives.
The annual conference of the British Islands and Mediterranean Region (BIMR) of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) has taken place in Jersey, with a particular focus on parliaments and public engagement. The conference, which took place in St Helier was an opportunity for parliamentarians from all 13 branches of CPA BIMR to share ideas and exchange good practice.
CPA UK has warmly welcomed the commitment in today’s Queen’s Speech to honour the Sustainable Development Goals. It was confirmed that the goals would be supported through continued commitment on international development spending.
