International Parliamentary Conference on National Security & Cybersecurity Day

The International Parliamentary Conference on National Security, held in Westminster between the 27 - 31 March 2017, was designed to increase parliamentarians’ knowledge of and build capacity on national security through engaging interactive discussion sessions and networking opportunities with key stakeholders. The programme focused on a range of themes covering legislation, committee scrutiny, budgets, and engagement with civil society, international institutions and the private sector.

CPA UK will send a delegation of up to four members to the Parliament of Namibia in Windhoek to deliver a programme targeted at introducing concepts and technical capacity of parliamentary administration and governance. This aims to support the development and implementation of a parliamentary services commission in the Parliament of Namibia. CPA UK seeks applications from interested Members/Peers with experience of parliamentary administration and governance.

CPA UK, in partnership with Westminster Foundation for Democracy, will host a delegation of committee chairs from the Parliament of Sri Lanka for a three-day programme. It will focus on select committee practice and procedure in the UK and Sri Lanka, and aims to build the capacity of the committee chairs and senior parliamentary officials to effectively fulfil their responsibilities and respective committee mandate.
