In the last week of February 2020, we are planning a Cyber Security workshop to help Parliamentarians from across the Commonwealth develop their capacity on Cyber Security issues and there will be approximately 40 in attendance.
The objective of this workshop will be to explore and support delivery of the commitments in the 2018 Commonwealth Cyber Declaration. This will include raising awareness of current cybersecurity threats and challenges. There will be discussions on existing international and regional laws, and frameworks on cybersecurity, including the African Union Convention on Cybersecurity and Personal Data Protection, and the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime. The workshop will provide an opportunity to share international and regional best practices across the globe whilst providing opportunity to promote best practise and look at ways in which Commonwealth Parliaments can support each other in combatting Cybercrime and developing Cybersecure legislation. The workshop will be delivered by international cybersecurity experts and will involve MPs.
